Filter Context Spotlight – Camera Analogy

Imagine Total Sales = SUM(SalesTable[Sales]) as a camera. The filter context is the spotlight deciding which people step into frame.

How the spotlight works

The measure (camera) is fixed. Whoever stands in the lit area is summed; everyone else fades into the dark. Combine filters to narrow the spotlight.

Reading the math

Total Sales = SUM(SalesTable[Sales])

The formula never changesβ€”only the rows that are lit by the filter context do.
